From Congressman Steve Pearce’s aide:
I hope this email finds everyone well. Congressman Pearce and Congresswomen Marsha Blackburn invite you to their April 19th Press Conference, where they will unite with pro-life leaders who seek justice for the illicit activity discovered between UNM and the Southwestern Women’s organization (SWWO).
The U.S. House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, chaired by Congresswoman Blackburn, released a report that raised serious ethical and legal violations occurring between UNM and SWWO. The Panel sent two criminal referrals to the New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas – The first referral was for violating the Spradling Act, and the second was for not having proper consent policy for releasing fetal tissue. Since then, no action has been taken to bring UNM and SWWO to justice for their blatant disregard to the law and to the respect of women and unborn infants. We cannot sit back and allow for silence to be the answer.
The Press Conference will take place on April 19th, 2017 at 9:30am MST on UNM’s main campus in Albuquerque, NM in front of Hodgins Hall by the “U.” Please note, a room is reserved in the event of inclement weather.
We will unite together to raise awareness in the community and heavily encourage Mr. Balderas to pursue the referrals made by the Committee, but we cannot do this alone. We hope your organizations, family members, and friends will join us to increase the volume of support for Mr. Balderas and others responsible for taking action to bring UNM and SWWO to justice. Together we can ensure the rule of law is upheld, and that negligence and disregard for human life does not become the status quo.
US Congressman Steve Pearce (NM-02)
