An associate professor of political science at the Christian University Wheaton College is making headlines not because she is chosen to wear a Muslim headscarf during the Christian season of Advent but because she says Christianity and Islam share the same God and the same book.

It is hardly surprising today when a professor at any university makes a stand in solidarity with Islam despite the fact that most universities would shut them down if they stood in solidarity with Christianity.

What is important to understand is that she is an associate professor at a Christian university and she has stated that Christianity and Islam share the same book and worship the same God but nothing could be further from the truth.

While Islam makes a claim to the Bible of Christianity and Judaism they also claim that there are errors in that book and that is why they have the Quran. They deny that Jesus is the Son of God even though the Bible explicitly makes such a claim and so does Jesus.

They also claim to worship the same God as that of the Bible but again this is not true. Muslims fall on their face five times a day and pray to a stone that is most likely a meteorite in the heart of Mecca; this is idol worship plain and simple.

I do not make these statements to attack Islam but as a preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ I must be clear that Islam is not the same as Christianity. Muslims may believe that they worship a true god and that is their right. But regardless of the Pope’s declaration the god of Islam is the same as the Christian God; Muslims worship a false god from a biblical perspective.

So when an associate professor at a Christian university declares that Christians and Muslims worship the same God I must respectfully declare she has no clue what she’s talking about and I would advise her to repent and turn away from idols to worship the one true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The declared Son of God is Jesus Christ and regardless of what anyone says one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that he is Lord to the glory of God the father.
