LISTEN HERE: The HUB of New Mexico Christian Internet Radio Station www.thehubnm.com had Rev. Adelious Stith on with us to update us on the transgender bathroom situation with APS. He has set up a petition you can sign to let your voice be heard. Albuquerque Parents Standing for Non-Discrimination toward all Students. Go sign the petition TODAY!

This issue is important to ensure the Albuquerque Public School (APS) Board, New Mexico, ensures the protection of rights toward all students. The Policy and Instruction Committee must set the leadership role to ensure policies are written and adopted by Committee to ensure all students’s rights are protected. The Committee should not advocate for one segment of students at the risk of discriminating against a much larger student body. The Committee should not enact any other policies as an attempt to protect certain students since protection is already assured in current APS policies, Ordinances of the City of Albuquerque, State Law, State of New Mexico Constitution, and the Constitution of the United States. APS should not create a situation to bring upon itself using funds to create special restrooms, special showers, or special new construction since gender neutral facilities have already been afforded. APS should work toward collaborative efforts with parents of students within its educational district to promote education and awareness of the needs of a modest segment of students. APS should ensure its administrators and faculty are properly trained, properly informed on the accommodations for its students who do not feel comfortable using certain restrooms and showers. This petition is to abate the overuse of policies upon the administrators and faculty members and to prevent discrimination toward our students. This issue is important to ensure the Albuquerque Public School (APS) Board, New Mexico, ensures the protection of rights toward all students.
